⚡ Project Management, But Make It Cinematic

Professional Summary

From University to 2025, I have been devoted to teamwork, leadership, and hitting the deadline - everytime!

I have had some fantastic career moments that have brought a lot of depth and empathy to my toolkit. I was a Production Assistant on American Idol for two audition rounds and stood outside camera shot from where Ryan Seacrest greeted the hopefuls. I worked with an elephant on the set of Barney! I organised MakeAWish days for kids at Funimation.

I interviewed the Lost Girl Cast, Danny Trejo & Jonathan Banks on camera! I travelled across the USA to interview and interact with anime fans and represent Funimation to actors, industry professionals, and fans alike. I spent 11 amazing years working in one of the fastest and highest-quality dub studios out there, Funimation (now Crunchyroll). After an international move during the middle of COVID (talk about a logistical nightmare!), I had a successful 3 year run working with Blu-Ray and DVD Packaging, and completed a contract role as Production Coordinator for a 2D Animation Pipeline where I improved production processes, and helped to turn a £16K overspend into a £1K surplus.

My career has been varied and exciting, and I'm eager to keep adding exciting things to my list of experiences. Please take a look at my CV, projects, and portfolio to see if I could be the next right fit for your team!

I am authorized to work in the UK & USA. Located in Glasgow.

Work Experience

Production Coordinator

Spud Gun Studios

I learned a lot in this role, and loved every minute of it! With most of my career surrounded by animation, I had never worked in an original pipeline before. I proved I could come into a new production experience and pick things up very easily, because it all goes back to the love of storytelling - and connecting with people. I am really proud of the tools I created in Google Sheets to help calculate freelance budgets much easier. I really knocked it out of the park with the use of Airtable to improve budgeting processes as well as production processes. Deliveries slowly began to move ahead of schedule, and people were able to take holidays without checking in for the first time in years!

I learned a lot about storyboards, rough animation, clean & colour. I interacted with YouTube analytics and kept all things admin tidied up so folks could focus on their creative and business-related work. Check out CV & Projects for more!

Production Assistant

Anime Limited

This was my first role in the UK after my big move from Texas! It was very different to what I had been doing back in the States, but it was in the industry I knew well - anime. I was welcomed with open arms to Anime Limited and learned so much about Blu-Ray & DVD packaging. The elite Collector's Editions that they produce are second to none! I learned how to generate cost of goods reports, purchase orders, retail paperwork, and manage their inventory.  I used Airtable to track projects and tasks from inception to completion, making sure nothing got lost or slipped in our fast and busy workflow.

I am very grateful to Anime Limited for this experience, and to the staff there who are cherished friends to this day. Check out CV & Projects for more!

February 2021 - April 2024

Special Features Producer

Funimation (now called Crunchyroll)

This role was such a big and incredible part of my life. Both the roles I held at Funimation raised me as a professional, and this one is no exception. I was promoted to Special Features Producer in June of 2012, and for a little while, I managed both my Video Editing responsibilities while establishing the department that would become the Special Features Department. It always remained small, but mighty! I was a one-woman band in many respects. I reported to a lovely Senior Producer, and I worked with marketing to establish ideas and branding for each of our projects.

I brought on freelance talent when needed, and completed hundreds of hours of original content that included interviews, on-screen commentaries, narrative pieces, in-studio features, and more! From managing the schedule to pitching ideas, shooting, editing, delivering, and archiving - I was balancing multiple projects in constantly moving levels of production. I learned to be quick, efficient, and thorough. If I made any mistakes, I was the one to suffer for it later! I thrived in this role, and some of my best friends and career mentors still work there. I will always love this time of my life, and the way this shaped me as a human and professional.

June 2012 - August 2020

Video Editor

Funimation (now called Crunchyroll)

This was my first post-production role, as all of the ones prior to this were on set. I took this for a sense of stability after university, and little did I know it would become the foundation of my professional outlook. I learned what it was to be a good leader because I had good leaders around me. I was given the space and time to learn, but I picked things up pretty quickly and quickly found myself with new responsibilities. My role was to capture footage from digital tapes, QC the source material, create English Openings and Credits, and export the final English version on Final Cut. Over time, I started managing the department schedule, taking care of the tape archives and documenting where things were located, and helping to creating supertitle processes with the translation team.

This role raised me so well I was promoted in June of 2012, and slowly transitioned into my new role. Check out CV & link below for more!

October 2009 - June 2012

Art Swing, Art Department

Hit Entertainment (Barney & Friends)

What an amazing experience this was! I was an Art Swing on Season 13 of Barney & Friends. This meant I was working on set decoration and with props on set while we were shooting. We had a really neat season of Barney taking the kids all over the world. Which meant the Art Department was constantly creating new sets in our studios. The one I found the most breathtaking was the one we did at the end of the season's shoot, for the Rainforest episode. I remember pulling out so many fake plants from boxes and spending hours livening them up a bit to look real. We had a mix of fake and real plants, and it turned out so well!

I love every minute of being on the set of Barney! Check out CV & link below for more!

August 2008 - January 2009

Education

UNIVERSITY OF NORTH TEXAS

I began my time at UNT in Denton, TX as a Music Major. That was until I watched the behind-the-scenes features of Lord of the Rings. I saw the most wonderful thing of all - teamwork. It was what made me love marching band in high school. Everyone working together for the end goal of creating something amazing to watch. Each part is important. I switched over to RTVF and kept Music as part of my education as my minor.

I took one semester off to complete the Disney College Program, where I lived in Orlando, attended career classes and worked in the parks. I was a performer and staff member on the Backlot Tour, which has since been removed for the Star Wars land.

Bachelor of Arts

Major | Radio, Television, & Film

Minor | Music

August 2002 - December 2007

Interests

  • Family & Friends: Goes without saying - most important thing in life!

  • Personal Finance: I became interested in budgeting and personal finance in 2017 when I realized that I had not been making great financial decisions in my early working years! I quickly turned that around, and now I absolutely love a good financial spreadsheet. I regularly watch Caleb Hammer on YouTube, and I find the way people spend money fascinating.

  • Photography:  Although I haven't been shooting professionally in a while, I keep my general skills up with a standard DSLR.

  • Keeping House: Okay, I know - not an 'interest' to most people, but I take pride in my home, my surroundings, and the work that I put into keeping it nice and maintained. I love it when I get to learn some new skill from YouTube because I'm certain I can fix it myself!

  • TV & Film: Wouldn't be in the industry if I didn't like storytelling! I appreciate media is changing and becoming more focused on social platforms, but I still just love a well-done TV show like Adolescence or The Bear, or movies like Everything Everywhere All at Once and Wild Robot. Oh, and animation! King of the Hill reminds me of home, and The Simpsons makes me nostalgic!

ALL WORK SAMPLES & LINKS TO CONTENT BELONG TO THE RIGHTS HOLDER. ALTHOUGH I COMPLETED WORK ON PROJECTS HERE TO SHOW MY CAPABILITIES - I DO NOT OWN THE FINAL PRODUCT.
