Hello

My name is Ashley! I'm originally from Dallas Texas, but I reside in Glasgow Scotland now. I arrived in August of 2020 to marry my sweetheart, and it's been an adventure ever since! I am eligible for ILR in January of 2026, so I will soon see the end of my immigration journey. And what a document-filled journey it has been!

I am looking for a Glasgow-based hybrid or a remote UK or USA role that challenges me and teaches me. I am open to roles inside and outside of my industry.

My Story

This is a bit more informal, but I wanted to have a place to share a few things about myself if anyone was interested in delving into my story a bit further. No need for an autobiography, but sometimes personal lives can inform the professional side too.

I was born and raised in Texas. Graduated from Plano East High School (PESH), and subsequently attended and graduated from the University of North Texas (UNT). I immediately started picking up a bit of work around Dallas in the indie film and TV industry. I loved working on set! But, frankly - I needed health insurance! When the option for Funimation (now merged with Crunchyroll) came up I couldn't pass it up! And what started as a need for stability turned into an unforgettable 11 years as a Video Editor (3 years) and Special Features Producer (8 years).

Outside of a semester's length of time in Orlando, I lived in Texas my entire life until I moved to Scotland in 2020. I took a bit of a step back in my career as far as the "job title" went, but I was working quickly after having the right to work - so I was happy! I found great friendships and a warm welcome to Glasgow in my new coworkers at Anime Limited. Although I was sadly made redundant, I remain good friends with many of the team.

I moved on to a contracted position as a Production Coordinator with Spud Gun Studios, where I got to hang out with some cool cats and learn all about the 2D Animated pipeline. Not only did I learn about it, but I had the opportunity to make improvements for the guys over at Mashed. I helped turn a £16K overspend into a £1K surplus by tracking budgets and projects in real-time, efficiently gathering and intuitively presenting budgetary data. This allowed for quick decisions that benefited the budget, and the project!

My contract came to an end, and my friends at Spud Gun Studios have soldiered on without me. I'm now seeking my next big adventure! I am open to opportunities in and out of the entertainment industry. The most important things to me are that I have the opportunity to learn and grow my skills and overall knowledge, that I have a supportive work environment, and that there is a bit of flexibility to allow for a good work-life balance.
